Yes...somehow global warming pundits have used the mayan calender mystery thingy to aid there own views on ''whats going on with the ice''.

I've read this a few times that every doomsday'er is linking the end of the calendar to suit their own goals.

But I mean is there anything in Mayan history, wall carvings, paintings etc. that could be used to 'prove' or suggest something will happen on the 21st, whether it is a polar shift, solarflare or awaking of the collective consciences i think is irrelivant. I'm more interested in where the implication of impending doom or change came from, was it a person saw the calendar was ending and came up with the idea or did the Mayan's leave more information behind that we don't know about!??

Well i could but i don't know if i'd be right to think that alot of the mayan prophecy comes from the studies of the nasca lines....and the very mention of astronomical calender's.
which is to how it all started.
