Hey Ilpadrino no problem  :). There was one thing I wanted to ask you in relation to your sighting, you mentioned that it was 40-50 ft up, that's rooftop level, do you think it could of been higher because it would of been clearly identifiable at rooftop level?

hi checkmate,40 or 50ft is an estimate,it could have been a bit higher. It had just got dark on a november evening so it was hard to tell exactly because the red yellow light was intense like a flare(defo not a flare) but it was no more than 100ft because the beach is only 15mins from me and i have been back there to estimate the height of the cliff or rock it came from behind.

It can be difficult to judge height and distance sometimes. You mentioned it came from behind a cliff/rock. Sometimes when an aerial object is approaching head on it can appear to be hovering when in fact it is still moving. If you happen to see it again try to record it and submit it into your sighting on the Report Sighting tab. That way maybe you can get some answers to what it is you guys saw that evening. :)

..i was standing facing the sea with the cliff maybe only 20yrds to the left front of me and the object moved from left to right just over the top of the cliff, moved out into the open(centre of beach) and stopped as if it was looking at us......it would be amazing if i saw this again as we left the scene quickly,my lady friend was scared and to be honest i was a bit too(although i didnt admit it at the time). We had no phones with us,only for that i would have recorded it for sure.

I think you will find the average height of a double storey dwelling  is under these [40/50ft] sort of heights, most probably about 30 feet maximum to the apex ridge line[top of roof] .Single storey obviously even lower in height.[20ft]

Yep your right Ice-Maiden the averages you suggested are correct  :) but we're still talking average heights. I used a two story house as a gauge for Ilpadrino to see if he thought his estimate of 40-50ft was correct  ;).

I think if we're going to get into exact heights the measuring tape is in order lol! The thing is wheather it's 30ft or 70 ft it's still very close to the ground, considering airplanes fly at 30,000ft +. With sightings this close to the ground and particularly overhead, most ( but not all) witnesses can see some sort of structured craft. At least Ilpadrino you have the rock or cliff to work off. With my sighting (2nd) I know for a fact it flew over the trees in the far distance because nothing except the telephone pole outside my house obstructed my view. Those trees I'm talking about are about 700 metres away from my house. With my sighting the object although it was big it's hard to gauge whether it was before the trees or after them. Either way it was big. If any one can give me an estimate from the drawing I did, of the size of that object, taking into account it was at least 700 metres away I'd appreciate it. :)
